My hobby since I was a young girl has been traveling the world and since I want to help others enjoy the world as I have, I went to work for our family’s travel agency in southwestern Pennsylvania as an outside travel consultant in 2013.  At that time, I started online training through many large cruise lines, river cruise lines, Disney World, and other programs such as hotel management.  Under the agency’s new ownership, I developed Getaway Dreams Come True Travel Agency, a boutique travel company specializing in luxury travel. Cruising and all-inclusive resort vacations have become our niche, but we also plan domestic and worldwide travel.

My experience includes more than 25 cruises of different types on about 10 different cruise lines in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean (including a transatlantic), Central America, to Alaska, and along the eastern coast of South America (my first cruise of one month long at the age of 8).  I have also visited numerous destination resorts in the Caribbean giving me first-hand knowledge of their properties. I recently obtained my Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation from The Travel Institute who offers a comprehensive exam-based training program in industry knowledge and professionalism.  I also earned a Certified Cruise Counselor designation with CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) and I have supplemented my cruise education by attending CLIA Cruise3Sixty Conferences as well as online intensive training with them.

Prior to selling travel, I held customer service positions my entire adult career at banks, the local YMCA, and various retail stores, as well as managing a fast-food restaurant.  I also sold Avon Products as an independent representative for 20 years.  Prior to meeting my husband of more than 40 years, I received an Associate Degree in Business Administration and subsequently, a certificate in Computer Programming.  We have two adult sons and two grandsons.
